Watch Tonight: Open Wounds

Stanley Greene's photographs in "Open Wound" are so powerful as to make the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians the viewer's responsibility. He is unashamed to use guilt — with his painter's eye — to relate the deeds of men in Chechnya to our own conduct.

Channel: Islam Channel

Time: 9.30pm

We get so caught up in our own 'problems/issues' which are nothing compared to the oppression and hardships which our brothers and sister face worldwide :(

I’ve always been like this personally, and annoyed and frustrate all those who care for me when I’m not open about my problems and issue and they say I isolated myself, I’ve always had the believe from a young age that my problems are not an atoms worth compared to what is be-folding before my very eyes, why complain when I can be grateful while others in oppression cant!

Sorry to go off topic, I didn’t see you upload some pictures from the Open Wounds, :jjk: for that- a note to anyone - the larger prints are worth viewing

A military solution seems like the only plausible action to free Chechnya, just by getting Muslim to know of the horrors at least they can make Dua and help the needy through Zakat, the rest is Allah wills doing nothing is not an option

Make dua! as Muslims it is the most powerful thing we have! Dua is the only thing that can effect Qadr (i can't remember the exact hadith but it is in Tirmidhi and apologies for paraphrasing! :o )

Akhy when your there you support the cause, and the believers and you fight- clear cut.

When your here you support the cause, and try your utmost to go there to directly help the believers and fight in Allah's cause- clear cut.

Either way we're firmly with our brethren never abandoning them in the slightest, its true the higher state would be to be actually there and be part of the struggle but only an already defeated mindset states we are unable to assist from here, and likes to content itself with the 'helpless' excuse when there is much to do- our brothers there rely on us for this little we can do.

Na'am this is true, we find the following in matters related to the subject at hand:

"The Prophet, salAllahu alaiyhi wasalam, said to him while Ibn-Abbas was riding behind him on the same mount;
"Young man, I shall teach you some words [of advice]:
Be mindful of Allaah and you will find him in front of you. If you ask, ask only Allaah and if you seek help, seek help only from Allaah. And know that if all the Nations were to gather together to benefit you, they would benefit you only with something that Allaah had already prescribed for you, and if they gather together to harm you, they would harm you only with something that Allaah had already prescribed for you. The pens have been lifted and the pages are dry."
(at-Tirmidhi)

"There is nothing more dear to Allaah Ta’ala than a servant making dua to him."
(at Tirmidhi)

"The dua of a Muslim for his brother (in Islaam) in his absence is readily accepted, an Angel is appointed to his side, whenever he makes a beneficial dua for his brother the appointed angel says "Aameen and may you also be blessed with the same".
(Sahih Muslim)

"Du'a is a weapon of a Believer, a pillar of Religion, and a light of the Heavens and the Earth."
(al-Hakim)

And so forth for the evidences as to the power of du'a is exhaustive alhamdulillah.
