Using something called a brute password. It tries like every password combination ever.

From back in the hacking days, dangerous stuff.

Sometime last year there was a Shia participant who at least implied that he could hack all of our accounts.

When you log into the forum it will show you when you last logged in, if that differes from the time that you did log in then it could mean that someone used your account.

But it's not easy for them to just hack anyones account.

we do have a system which will show if ppls accounts have been hacked, so insha allah dont worry.
also it is not acceptable to ask other users for their password, even if u may think its a joke or something

your IP address, maybe if you log in from your house PC all the time you will have a certain IP address.
then all of a sudden an IP address from america logs on and it will ring alarm bells.

Each time you log in, and when you post the forum logs your IP address, so if anyone had to log in with your account then a different IP address will be logged, so the admins will know if someone hacked into it or not.

And like i said before it's not so easy to hack this forum.

I don't think people would waste so much time trying to find your password, unless maybe they've got something against you *Roll Eyes*

yes

phishing scams are common.

you get a spood email from say paypal asking you for your password. they say they need to update their records (for example)

they then tell you to click on a link which takes you to a paypal site that looks like the real thing. but infact that site is made by the scammers.

you tell them your password and it goes to them.

there are many varieties of this type of scam.
sometimes you get emails supposedly from ur bank asking for details.

basically if u get an email asking for sensitive info then ignore

MWarrior

also keyloggers are dangerous.

they record all activity on your computer and what you type and send the information to the other end.

i think thats the one people need to watch out for.

And like i said before it's not so easy to hack this forum.... I use many different computers at different locations to log in ... i have two computers at work ... a wireless laptop ... and two at home ... I guess I'm hacking my own account ...
