from their website
Both the London and Bradford events are now fully booked but as with any 'free admission' event, there will be people who have booked tickets but who won't show up. We hope to give their tickets away at the door on the day, inshallah. Those who have booked tickets, please arrive early to avoid having your tickets given away.

It be very interesting to know what they mean, since Radical middle way is a new labour project, which has been working vry closely with the govt to explain its domestic policies and recieving thousands in funds

Masha'Allah, just look at whos coming..
Someone correct me if im wrong but:
Hamza Yusuf: Tea with Bush
Habib Ali: jihad of nafs is greater jihad
Tariq Ramadhan: too numerous to name
Abdal Hakim Murad:wasnt he on dispatches saying the brothers who come out of madinah uni were all extermists or something
Oh wait, did salman say labour? makes sense.

I ve got a ticket to attend, but anyone else who is going should really concentrate on what they are saying and take it with a pinch of salt and that goes for likes of Habibs adn the rest. I am sure the home office has not paid 100,000 to fly in these scholars as per dec 2006 parliament report, to push an agenda other than its own.

Any notes?
And forgot note book again :smack: but a bro i went with took notes .. so Ill take some from him. And im not sure if ill put them up .. well i wont give my word .. coz it usually doesn't happen :(.
Alhumdulillah it was good. Agreed with some things and on a personal note disagreed with others things some speakers said. Who and what is not needed.
But on a whole was good Alhumdulillah. except for 1 moment where i was :nervous: ... Ive posted in the bros thread why ...

What they said wasn't really bad ... but i just didnt agree with some parts of it, Yusuf Islam got on stage and said himself .. i slightly disagree with wat so on so said. But they still have respect for eachother ... and thats how it should be .. but most speakers were very good.
i went and i'd say alhamdulilah the best were the shuyukh. SubhanAllah, Sh Habib Ali Jifri(Tarim) and Sh Abdullah from Mauritania were the highlight. SubhanAllah the nur these shuyukh radiate is truly inspiring.
Like Al Qadr said..take the good, forget the bad.

Salman im suprised u went since wat u were saying recently about talks about events... but see even Tariq Ramadan he mentioned that same thing about sometimes concerned ppl are attending jst as a fashion, going from talk 2 talk without benefitting it. Reminded me of u wen he said that :p
I thought the event was quite good, went on a bit long we got home really late. Left b4 they started all the nasheeds, did ne1 stay for that n how was that?

I just went to see what they are going to say plus it was a concentrated topic not just a whole session on morals :p
I didnt stay for too long either.
I went to the London event and have to say it was brilliant. I always attend these lectures whether they have been put on by the Radical Middle Way or not. By the way for those who are cynical about this project, this issue was addressed by Shaykh Habib and Shaykh Hamza. The event was recorded and its going to be made available on the website so watch it and make up your own mind. On the issue of the event being paid for by the Foreign Office, Shaykh Hamza said, (I paraphrase), "thats taxpayers money and that includes the Muslims of this country. Aren't you entitled to a little refund?" :D
