my dad gets everything from local shop, they sell everything halal (except the Cigarrettes). the main superstore he does go to is Sainsburys
usually get fruit/veg from a green grocer (some bits from the supermarket as they last longer :p), meat from the butchers, but evrything else from the supermarket

You know there used to be talk for a while for nation wide 'Muslim Mart SuperStore' with all products ranging from majority Muslim countries and companies and a per centage of profits than being plowed back into Muslim ownership and invested in these countries.
Also some amount was going to go into charitable causes, all products were to be halal, and none were to be from boycotted Israel, etc.
Does anyone know what happened to the idea?
All you need is one of these rich Arabs to get in on this rather than buy hotels, horses, etc.

I don't think it exists, we used to have one near us, but it closed down years ago! There may still be a few around because they haven't bothered to change the shop sign

morrisons cos its the nearest supermarket to us, also the local shops (eg halal butchers, vegetables from local places, some things from convenience shop wen morrisons is closed or we cant b bothered 2 go to morrisons). but i got no real preference from one supermarket 2 another, we used 2 shop in sainsbury wen we lived in camden, its all the same to me. altho a liddl opened kind of near by, but it is further than morrison, i kind of do want 2 go and get some items from there cos it is cheaper than all the other places and i think their stuff is alright. but iv not yet been cos i dnt go past it in my daily life so i wd hav 2 make special trip in that direction
