Shaving off hair from private parts

Narrated Abu Huraira :

I heard the Prophet saying. "Five practices are characteristics of the Fitra: circumcision, shaving the pubic hair, cutting the moustaches short, clipping the nails, and depilating the hair of the armpits."

Shaving, can be done with a razor or machine. I believe it must be done every 60 days at least.

Depilating means pulling it out, for example while having a shower it is usually easy to remove the hair in the arm pits via pulling. The new hair grows less coarse than before and softer.

Is shaving those parts of the body really obligatory or wajib? pulling hairs out must be painfull, theres cream in chemist, if you apply it hairs will just fall off, or i think using Veet to pull of the hairs will be painless.
