Assalamu alaikum,
I hope I find you all in the best of health and iman.
It's that time of the year again, when we come out and mark the
anniversary of the Day of Deportations as World Chechnya Day on Friday 23
February. This year, like last year, we will be doing a memorial service
at the Yalta Memorial, Cromwell Gdns, South Kensington at 3pm to 4.15pm.
I am writing to ask for volunteers. Will there be anyone available to help
set up and pack away? So I'm looking for volunteers from 12.30pm til 5pm
to come, help set up, help with the proceedings and then help pack away.
I understand the guys will have to run out for jumuah- that's fine.
Also, on Sat 10th March, Save Chechnya Campaign will be holding a film
festival, showing films on Chechnya, holding talks and stalls etc. This
will be at the Clore Management Centre, Birkbeck College (nearest tube
stn: Russell Sq) from 1pm to 5pm.
I am looking for volunteers for that day from 9am til 6.30pm.
If you can help at either or both events, it would be GREATLY appreciated
and if so, please email me at this address with your name and contact
number. If you have friends who would like to help out, please do forward
them this email too.
