I love sports as well!! I've also done everything (not rugby though):soccer, volleyball, ballet, field hockey, ice climbing, etc, etc.
I run 10k/3 times per week and also swim regularly. I play volleyball with a team, go skiing once per week and I'm trying to learn how to ice skate (i want to play ice hockey, my husband is a really good player).
In the summer I usually play softball (although I'm really bad at it), and ultimate freesbie!
I really like working out and it's great to be fit.

Subhanallah, I struggle to run 2km in one sessions...
TBH, I been goin' gym regularly, only twice this week, 5 times last week, 6 times the week before... but I've always done 10 mins on bike, 10 mins runnin' and 10 mins cross-trainer... thats a 30 min cardio session... stamina is buildin' up n I can run further but get bored, so jump on the cross-trainer.
I'm not playin' any sport at the mo.
Ur right its good to be fit, have sooo much more energy to do day to day thin's without tirin'... if I can do 10km comfortably I might apply to run a half marathon.

Before you purchase a exercising machine make sure you read professional and user reviews to get an idea if it really works or not because in the informericials they show people that are built and fit and to have a body like them it takes many many years. So don't be fooled by their slogans "just 10 minutes a day and your going to get abbs in 6 months" oh please shutup. Just my 2 cents.

No training?
I've just moved house and haven't joined a Gym yet.
So at the moment my MMA training is just free weights and working the heavy bag (I actually use the Bas Rutten MMA Workout tapes :D ).
Riding the bike can be pretty physical too. If I go fast enough...

Ahh good to hear. It can be hard coming back from injuries and illness when you feel like you've lost so much ground.
I should really focus more on cardio, but I hate push bikes, running/jogging and jump rope.

Yeah good one.
The priniciples are pretty well recognised within martial arts I think.
Less weight, more reps and less rest between sets. A more athletic physique, rather than useless bulk.
My routine isn't as athletic as Randy's (his athleticism is incredible for his age, for any age actually!), but its not a size routine either. I mix it up with jumping squats and crunches too.
Mainly though, I try to make my bagwork and shadow boxing as cardio oriented as possible without sacrificing technique.

Crunches are prob best workout for ones stomach. The situps which are common ie go all way down and up to knees with hands behind back are not really tht good for ya and dont really work the ab. muscles out tht well...u wanna do crunches and vary the position for crunch exercises.

Sauna enthusiasts laud the health benefits of "sweat baths," attributing them with healing, preventative, and cleansing properties. The sauna of Finland is a tradition that some researchers date back over two thousand years. The Finns attribute their endurance and longevity to the tradition of sauna.
Basically, what happens to the body during a sauna is quite simple — your metabolism and pulse rates increase, your blood vessels become much more flexible, and your extremities benefit from increased circulation. Physical fitness fans will recognize that some of these changes can also be achieved through strenuous exercise. Not to say that a sauna would put you in excellent physical condition without moving a muscle (don't some of us wish!), but that it brings about the same metabolic results as physical exercise.
The effects of the sauna are numerous and varied. Proponents of dry heat bath mention a feeling of psychological peace and contentment as well as physical rejuvenation. Many people claim that the sauna relieves the symptoms of minor illnesses such as colds, revives the muscles after tough physical exertion, and clears the complexion. The sauna experience will often leave you feeling very much alive. Your senses will be sharpened, and your tactile sensitivity heightened.
Another aspect of the sauna that needs to be considered is your mental state prior to taking one. Many people attest to the healing powers of the sauna concerning mental depression and anxiety. They say that after leaving the sauna, the mind is in a relaxed, lucid state, free of the worries of the everyday world. Also, when the body feels soothed and energized, the mind and emotions often follow suit.
Some basic tips before entering the sauna:
Don't drink alcohol, as it works as a depressant, where the blood is moving slowly and the nerve endings are literally shutting down, and counteracts the benefits of the sauna.
Older people need to avoid or limit their time in the sauna.
People with heart ailments or respiratory diseases need to avoid the sauna, and anyone with chronic ailments needs to check first with his or her doctor.
Don't eat prior to the sauna.
Avoid drug use and the sauna — tranquilizers, stimulants, and other prescribed drugs alter the body's metabolism and could produce dour effects in the heat.
If you experience dizziness, problems with breathing, or a general feeling of ill health, leave the sauna immediately. If you do decide to use the sauna, start gradually. Stay in only as long as you are comfortable, increasing the time with each visit. The Finns respect the sauna to such a degree that their ministers of government often conduct business in and around the sauna. They also believe that a person, upon leaving a fulfilling sauna, will be clear of mind and untroubled. Who knows? This may be Columbia's best and cheapest stress reduction technique yet!
