Got c/w question today, im sure thre r ppl here who have studied law, so help pleeeaaase and Insha'Allaah u will be rewarded
Q1)
a) Andrew is a british citizen born in the uk in 1950. in 1975 he emigrated to Canada where he met and married Barbara, a canadian national. in 1978, he returned to the uk and in 1980 his daughter catherine was born in the uk.
The family later returned to canada where his daughter deborah was born in 1983. the family has lived in canada ever since. advise barbara, catherine and deborah as to whether they are British citizens.
b) Rizwan came to the UK 5 years ago on a work permit. H ejust recieved indefinate leave to remain.Advise him as to how he can become a British citizen and the procedures he will have to undergo.
^^ 1,000 word limit :D
2) Does the refugee convention adequately protect those fleeing to the UK to avoid persecution?
^^ 2,000 words.

I study law however Immigration is a specialist subject and one I have not delved into! Sorry Al Q.:p
From the top of my head (not sure) it seems that as Catherine is born in the uk and her father also is a british citizen she seems to have the fully vested rights of uk citizenship. In regards to his wife Barbara I am not sure, they have lived in Canada a lenghtly time so it would seem that she is not entitled to any residential rights in regards to uk citizenship.
Deborah on the other hand may have as her father and sister (maybe) have uk citizenship however being born in Canada she may have dual nationality?
Sorry Ive never doen immigration law so I have no idea, best is to try Blackstones statues and looki up the relevant act or cases and work from there. :)
