Is there a hell and Heaven for jinns?
From amongst the jinn there are muslims and disbelievers just like amongst the humans because the Quran has been sent for both mankind and the jinn, and so the shaitateen from the jinn will be in the hellfire, and the muslims of the jinn will be in jannah with the muslims who were humans masha Allah :) If u read for example surah 55 Al Rahman Allah ta ala says:
46. But for him who [the true believer of Islâmic Monotheism who performs all the duties ordained by Allâh and His Messenger Muhammad SAW , and keeps away (abstain) from all kinds of sin and evil deeds prohibited in Islâm and] fears the standing before his Lord, there will be two Gardens (i.e. in Paradise).
47. Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?
48. With spreading branches;
49. Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?
50. In them (both) will be two springs flowing (free)
51. Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?
52. In them (both) will be every kind of fruit in pairs.
53. Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?
54. Reclining upon the couches lined with silk brocade, and the fruits of the two Gardens will be near at hand.
55. Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny?

Briefly, what's Jiin?
Basically spirits. They have been around longer than humans. They were created from fire, they can take different forms, we can't see them unless they are in a different form. Jinns can do many works that we can't. They have evil and good among them, they also drink and eat. The bad Jinn tempt people to be evil. I know most of this from this power-point presentation i have/
Briefly, what's Jiin?
A jinn is a being made from smokeless fire they cannot be seen by humans, but the jinn can see us. Iblis is the father of the jinn just as Prophet Adam alleyhi salam, is the father of mankind. The jinn are like humans in the sense that they are male and female, they eat and marry and have children and they die, they live in unclean places and those un-inhabited by humans, like empty houses, ruins, forests, rubbish tips etc. etc. There are those of the jinn that are muslim and they will never come near people, and there are those of the jinn that are evil also known as shaiyateen, the qureen are those of the evil jinn asigned to each of mankind and who accompany each human being on earth and try to lead us astray, this is where the whispers of shaitan come in audu billah (we seek refuge with Allah from that)

why won't they come near people?
why won't they come near people?
only the evil ones do this, that how people become possessed, and touched by the shaiyateen, and why we have been told to seek refuge with Allah ta ala before having relations between a husband and wife so that the child will not be harmed insha Allah ta ala, and why we seek refuge with Allah ta ala when entering the toilet, before removing our garments, before closing a window etc etc. but ultimately nothing can harm us or trouble us unless it is decreed for us by Allah ta ala. There is no strength or might or power except with Almighty Allah ta ala.

I've heard that before that Iblees is father of the jinns but i have not come across any in text that confirms that. Can anyone show source of that fact?
I have read that iblees was taken up into the heavens when he was a baby and was raised there. If he was taken as a baby then it means he had parents and lot of other jinns in the society.
I also recall reading the jinns had become so corrupt and evil at one time that Allah allowed iblees to take 70,000 angels with him and punish the jinns severely.

Is there a hell and Heaven for jinns?
Yes my dear brother Islam is for two Creatures, for Jinns and for Humans.
Therefore Allah spoke many times with both (Jinns and Humans),
You can see in Holy Quran, especially in Surah - Jinn
Therefore regarding to my knowledge all Jinns and Humans will go to Hell or Heaven in Hereafter.

Allah ta ala says in the Quran surah Al khaf ayat 50:
And (remember) when We said to the angels; "Prostrate to Adam." So they prostrated except Iblīs (Satan). He was one of the jinns; he disobeyed the Command of his Lord. Will you then take him (Iblīs) and his offspring as protectors and helpers rather than Me while they are enemies to you? What an evil is the exchange for the Zālimūn (polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc).
which shows that Iblis is the father of the jinn, the jinn are his offspring. Allah ta ala created the jinn and they existed before mankind
Allah ta ala says in the Quran surah 15 ayat 27. "And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire"
I dont know about iblis taking 70,00 angels Allahu alam.
Also, the Prophet :saw: advised the jinn not to approach people as to avoid frightening them [mankind]. Jinn are 10 times stronger than us, they eat bones and dung and they live in holes - like empty wells.
I have read that Iblis, was among the righteous jinn and then fought a jihad along with the Angels to defeat the evil jinn. Allah seeing how righteous and how great a warrior he was raised him to Paradise. Allahu a'lam if it is true.

If Iblis is the first of the Jinn how come he has not died yet? Or has he?
just a question, if Iblees is the "father" of Jinn then who is the "father" of the angels??

I've never heard of that.
Iblis's real name was azazeel, he was raised in Jannah.
According to some ulema before man was created the jinn used to live on the earth, and their two main wrong things that they did was make fasaad (correuption) and yasfiqud dimaa (shed blood)* so they were destroyed, all but one, iblis, i think he was small then so he was spared and was taken up to jannah, and then you know the whole story of what happened and he got thrown out and all.
* That is why before hazrat Adam alayhis salaam was created, iblis tricked some angels into saying "And when your Lord said to the angels, I am going to place in the earth a khalif, they said: What! wilt Thou place in it such as shall make mischief in it and shed blood, and we celebrate Thy praise and extol Thy holiness? He said: Surely I know what you do not know." Surah Baqarah ayah 30

And in reply to the original question,
Yes the jinn (good ones) will go to jannah and the shayateen (bad ones) will go to jahannam.
If Iblis is the first of the Jinn how come he has not died yet? Or has he? akhi in this surah ah hijr (surah 15) it speaks about Iblis, how he asked Allah ta ala to give him a long lifespan and so he will live until the judgment day comes then he will be cast into hellfire.
26. And indeed, We created man from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud.
27. And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire.
28. And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man (Adam) from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud.
29. "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him."
30. So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together.
31. Except Iblîs (Satan), - he refused to be among the prostrators.
32. (Allâh) said: "O Iblîs (Satan)! What is your reason for not being among the prostrators?"
33. [Iblîs (Satan)] said: "I am not the one to prostrate myself to a human being, whom You created from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud."
34. (Allâh) said: "Then, get out from here, for verily, you are Rajîm (an outcast or a cursed one)." [Tafsîr At-Tabarî]
35. "And verily, the curse shall be upon you till the Day of Recompense (i.e. the Day of Resurrection)."
36. [Iblîs (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected."
37. Allâh said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved,
38. "Till the Day of the time appointed."
39. [Iblîs (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all.
40. "Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them."
41. (Allâh) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me."
42. "Certainly, you shall have no authority over My slaves, except those who follow you of the Ghâwîn (Mushrikûn and those who go astray, criminals, polytheists, and evil-doers, etc.).
43. "And surely, Hell is the promised place for them all.
44. "It (Hell) has seven gates, for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned.
45. "Truly! The Muttaqûn (pious and righteous persons - see V.2:2) will be amidst Gardens and water-springs (Paradise).
46. "(It will be said to them): 'Enter therein (Paradise), in peace and security.'
47. "And We shall remove from their breasts any sense of injury (that they may have), (So they will be like) brothers facing each other on thrones.
48. "No sense of fatigue shall touch them, nor shall they (ever) be asked to leave it."
49. Declare (O Muhammad SAW) unto My slaves, that truly, I am the Oft-Forgiving, the Most-Merciful.
50. And that My Torment is indeed the most painful torment.

That makes sense, all jinns were destroyed and Iblees taken up as a child, becuase he wasn't the first jinn like Adam was first human. So when iblee was cast out and he asked respite to live till last day. We know how Adam a.s. progeny spread, how did ilbees' spread him being the only jinn?
Here's a good read on Jinns :)
The world of the Jinn (http://islamqa.com/index.php?ref=2340&ln=eng&txt=jinns)
there too are ulema that says that he (iblees) is an angel, but i guess that would take allota explaining from tafsir and tauheed.
but anyways as the brother said, there are good and bad jinn. if u read surah jinn then u would see.

No, he cannot be. Angels are created from light and only know to worship Allah. However, Iblis was created from fire.
(God) said: "O Iblis! What prevents you from prostrating yourself to one whom I have created with My own hands? Are you haughty? Or are you one of the high (and mighty) ones?" He replied : "I am better than him. You created me from fire, while him You created from clay." He said: "Go forth from hence, for you are outcast." (Surah Sad: 75-77)

u must understand that there are deeper meaning to verses in the quran, what u read is only from what you see or understand, but when you do indepth study theres more meaning to the verses. im not saying that people know the hidden meaning of verses, but Allah does show us more in the meaning of verses when we do indepth studies of tafsir and tauheed.
but anyways i was just saying that not all say that iblees is of jinn.

are Jinns basically ghosts?
are Jinns basically ghosts?
well yea kind of , but they are not like how the non muslims think of ghosts, as dead people who haunt u and come back in their "spirt bodies" going whoooooo ooooo.
but yes basically those things that are unexplained stuff possession etc, but these jinn are a whole other species to humans, and they can all see us but we cant see them, but they can sometimes enter peoples bodies audu billah which is why muslims have to make duaa all the time every day these are things we should do often throughout the day, seeking refuge with Allah ta ala , like when a man goes to his wife he has to make the duaa seeking refuge from the jinn so they dont harm any children that Allah ta ala may bless you with, or they can be there too enjoying his wife audu billah.
be careful when u close a window or open one too say bismillah in case u trap one in the window or hit it as its going by,we have hadiths that tell us that you should close all the doors and windows as magrib comes, if u walk over some dung or bones, say bismillah as these are food for the jinn ( and u might step on one and hurt or kill it without knowing and then that jinn or others will come and take revenge on you audu billah)
also when u remove ur clothing say bismillah, when u open your front door always say bismillah or the jinn will say here is a free hotel and food for the night and come in audu billah, when going into the bathroom too make duaa, covering your cooking pots at night too, there are lots of hadith like this akhi, but always remember that they have no strength or might or power Allah ta ala is the one in control but He ta ala has told us how to deal with these things and as the hadith says we tie our camel then we trust in Allah ta ala, so if anyone is affected by the jinn then that maybe a test from Allah ta ala, but we take all the mesures we can to avoid that as told to us by the prophet Salallahu alleyhi wa salam

As Salamu Alaikum akhy,
No, jinns are not ghosts. They have definite form of bodies, have to eat, eat, use the restroom, etc. They are very similiar to humans except a few differences such as humans cannot see them, certain kinds of jinns have powers of fast speed, they can possess people in certain ways, they eat bones, can hear the punishment of the dead in the grave, and some other things.
There are some good books on this topic but you should consult a reliable sheikh about what books are authentic.
Here is one book I've read and know is completely authentic.
