My brothers and sisters be carfull from lying
The Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said: “There are three signs of hypocrite: When he speaks, he lies; when he makes promise, he breaks it; and when he is trusted, he betrays his trust”
The Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said “The truth leads to piety and piety leads to Jannah (heaven). A man persists in speaking the truth till he is written with Allah as truthful. Falsehood leads to wicked-ness and wickedness leads to the Fire (Hell), and a person persists in telling lies until he is written with Allah as a liar”.

i think this is a very good thread , to many people lie and decieve these days ,including loved ones and dont realise the actual pain, and disruption it can cause to others, not to forget them being seen as a liar from there on as well.....once u lie, u will have to tell 100 to cover that lil one....be truthful always ..truth will always prevail inshallah

Assalamuailaikum Wa Ramhmatullah
Mash'Allah I heard the same in todays Khutbah, The brother also mentioned Mohammad(SAW) also said there is a 4th charesteristic of a Munafiq, he/she acts in an insolent manner when speaking at times. May Allah(SWT) guide us so we abstain from having such charesteristics.

If I may here .. I have been told on certain message boards and this is a perception in some, certainly not the majority but definately some "Christian" circles that it is required for Muslims to lie about aspects of Islam to a non-Muslim?
Just for the record, .. I do not believe this to be true.
Peace Ken

this is what the shia do, its called taqiya, most of them are not muslims, you should be very wary of them.

Umar` .. thank you! I apologise but you're dealing with a much clueless Canadian non-Muslim, .. "the shia", I don't understand, I'm sorry.

the shia are mostly deviant followers of a completely distorted Islam, to the point of it not even being Islam, who practice polytheism and other evil things that are completely contrary to Islam.
there are some muslims among the shia who are not included in that, and our differences are not that which puts them outside of Islam.and Allah Knows Best.

hmm .. sounds as though we may have some things in common, ... there are groups here I won't allow my daughter near and would never adivise anyone asking questions about Christianity to approach, ... and then there others who are fine, good decent folks .. very honest and truthfull.
... isn't that odd
Thank you Umar`
Umar`, just one more quick question;
who practice polytheism
.. could you briefly explain a little more on this?
Peace Ken

The Shia believe in a concept called 'imamah'. Imamah is in reference to the 12 imams that they believe succeeded our Prophet (saws). These imam's started with Ali (ra), the son-in-law of the Prophet and the 4th Khalifa Rashidah of Sunni Islam, and ended with a 12th Imam who was 'disappeared' as a young child, and who they believe has been in hiding, or 'occultation', for the last 1000-years. They believe their 12th Imam, or the Imam Mahdi (note: Sunnis, too, believe in the Mahdi, but they have a different concept of him than Shia), will return at the end of the world and destroy all the enemies of the Ahle-Bayt (the family of the Prophet, from whom all the Imams were descended). The reason why some accuse Shia of 'polytheism' is because they believe that the Imams were all infallible and were almost demi-gods, for lack of a better word. When they pray, they ask their imams for intercession between them and Allah (swt), and they believe that they can stave off bad-fortune and aquire good fortune by calling upon their Imams.
For instance, while a Sunni might call upon Allah in a time of trial, a Shia might say, "Ya Ali Madad!", which means, "Oh, Ali, help us!".
This is all in reference, however, to Jafari, or 'twelver', Shia, not Zaydi Shia, who hold a different set of beliefs close to Sunni Islam.
On the surface anyway that sounds similar to the Catholic Churches position concerning the Saints and Intercessory Prayer.
thank you Selamat
... so there are Shia, Zaydi Shia and Sunni? .. this sounds similar to Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant.
Mind you it's been reported that over the years there is now close to 30,000 differing and slightly differing Christian denominations.
