Hey guys. My name is a joke, I'm in no way trying to be racist to anyone. Anyway, I was just wondering.. If you guys don't mind, can I ask you why Islam is your religion, and how you came to that conclusion?

assalamu alaikum and welcome to the board.
Hmm why is Islam my religion? I love Islam. I converted almost a year ago alhamdulillah. Christianity never made sense to me. I never understood how Jesus could save you from sin because I had always believed only god can forgive your sins. When I came to Islam. I made sure I wasn't becoming a terrorist first LOL. But I love the concept of Islam. You are worshipping Allah swt and Allah swt alone. No praying to jesus or virgin mary ( like catholics do) When you pray you are facing Allah swt alone and trust me you face Allah swt with fear. Because you don't know if your going to paradise or hell. I love helping the poor and giving to charities. Saying peace be upon you to your fellow bros and sis's. Islam just made sense to me where christianity never did.
Habiba
Islam is the only answer to every social ills we have today where other systems fail (this is short answer)
I might as well just jump in here, I'm Ken, a Christian from Canada wanting to find a place where I could ask questions when need be. I saw "learn about Islam" and it seemed to be the right place.
Dana, were you Catholic before converting? just curious actually. But I read in your post "hell", .. am I wrong in understanding, Muslims do not believe "hell" exists??
Although I'm not quite as clueless about Islam as I was, .. I'm still pretty clueless about Islam ... So, I ask in advance for your patience please, if I express something wrongly or just plain stick my foot in my mouth stupidly, I mean no harm nor dis-respect.
I can get into discussions with Christian Fundamentalists where from time to time try to correct false claims or what I perceive as being false .. which can get interesting to say the least, .. anyway, I want to be accurate in what I say, .. so, I may need clarification on points and or claims made (is this true, is this not true) from time to time, and just to plain ask, if I need to know something.
Anyway, hi!
also, .. I am in no way here to convert anyone and not looking to be converted either. I may try to set the record straight concerning what Christians believe if I see anything that's not accurate .. if that's ok.

Salam (Peace) KennC (and muslimterrorist ;)) and welcome to the forum! In regards to your question of whether or not Muslims believe in Hell or not, we do. We also believe in Paradise (of course).
Have a nice time here. :)
Hi ken and M.T ..welcome to the forum..
dont know if dana is around so forgive me for stepping in but ken, yes as farouq said, muslims beleive in hell as an actual place that exists, Almighty Allah (Almighty God) says in the Quran
surah 35
6 Surely, Shaitân (Satan) is an enemy to you, so take (treat) him as an enemy. He only invites his Hizb (followers) that they may become the dwellers of the blazing Fire.
And In surah 33
64. Verily, Allâh has cursed the disbelievers, and has prepared for them a flaming Fire (Hell).
65. Wherein they will abide for ever, and they will find neither a Walî (a protector) nor a helper.
66. On the Day when their faces will be turned over in the Fire, they will say: "Oh, would that we had obeyed Allâh and obeyed the Messenger"
67. And they will say: "Our Lord! Verily, we obeyed our chiefs and our great ones, and they misled us from the (Right) Way.
68. Our Lord! give them double torment and curse them with a mighty curse!"
Surah 104
1. Woe to every slanderer and backbiter.
2. Who has gathered wealth and counted it,
3. He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever!
4. Nay! Verily, he will be thrown into the crushing Fire.
5. And what will make you know what the crushing Fire is?
6. The fire of Allâh. kindled,
7. Which leaps up over the hearts,
8. Verily, it shall be closed in on them,
9. In pillars stretched forth (i.e. they will be punished in the Fire with pillars, etc.).
and in surah 83
1. Woe to Al-Mutaffifin [those who give less in measure and weight (decrease the rights of others)],
2. Those who, when they have to receive by measure from men, demand full measure,
3. And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due.
4. Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning),
5. On a Great Day,
6. The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamîn (mankind, jinns and all that exists)?
7. Nay! Truly, the Record (writing of the deeds) of the Fujjâr (disbelievers, sinners, evil-doers and wicked) is (preserved) in Sijjîn.
8. And what will make you know what Sijjîn is?
9. A Register inscribed.
10. Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allâh, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)].
11. Those who deny the Day of Recompense.
12. And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allâh, the sinner!)
13. When Our Verses (of the Qur'ân) are recited to him he says: "Tales of the ancients!"
14. Nay! But on their hearts is the Rân (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn.
15. Nay! Surely, they (evil-doers) will be veiled from seeing their Lord that Day.
16. Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell.
17. Then, it will be said to them: "This is what you used to deny!"
18. Nay! Verily, the Record (writing of the deeds) of Al-Abrâr (the pious who fear Allâh and avoid evil), is (preserved) in 'Illiyyûn.
19. And what will make you know what 'Illiyyûn is?
20. A Register inscribed.
21. To which bear witness those nearest (to Allâh, i.e. the angels).
22. Verily, Al-Abrâr (the pious who fear Allâh and avoid evil) will be in delight ( paradise)

Hey guys. My name is a joke, I'm in no way trying to be racist to anyone. Anyway, I was just wondering.. If you guys don't mind, can I ask you why Islam is your religion, and how you came to that conclusion?
So you're not a muslim then I take it..
Oh just looked at your profile.. it says 'satanism'.. so you're a satanist..
Well Islam is a religion we have adopted into our lives because we have submitted to Allah who created you, me and the entire universe - we try and live according to the guidelines of our creator through the teachings of the Qur'aan which are the words of no other then God himself who has sent down messengers over time to guide the people. The last messenger came over fourteen centuries ago called Muhammad (PBUH) - we follow his way and teachings to the best of our ability. Islam does not defy logic and falls in perfect alignment with our innate nature.
Noone could have compiled such a perfect system for mankind except God himself. For does the creator not know his creation?
Hi, Peace, thank you and my apologys .. "hell" being a mythical place I got from a Jewish board I visited .. sorry.
Muslimterrorist, is this accurate? you being in satanism? .. can I ask a question of yourself as well here?
... years ago I browsed a satanism board where I read that, at least some satanists, believe that Paul of the Christian NT "invented" Christianity ... is this true, and if so, is this a widely held belief amougst satanist groups?
I recently visited a Muslim website and read where it's believed Paul invented Chritianity ... is this accurate and widely believed amougst Muslims?

Hey guys. My name is a joke, I'm in no way trying to be racist to anyone. Anyway, I was just wondering.. If you guys don't mind, can I ask you why Islam is your religion, and how you came to that conclusion?
Well, majority of the people in this world, I might guess 99% don't choose their religion for themselves but they are GIVEN a religion by their parents, guradians, friends or those who affect their lives. For example I myself am a Muslim because I was born in a Muslim family, you are a Christian or Satanist because you were made that by others.
Am I wrong?
Let me tell you what my approach is to find the answer of your question. Personally I hadn't been close to my religion in my past life like most of Muslims today, It's been a couple of years that I studied Islam and found it 100% LOGICAL and NATURAL. And this is what I wanted because I see the natural phenomena in this world and my mind doesn't ever accept anything which is unlogical, so my bond to Islam grew strong as I studied my own religion.
I haven't studied other religions in detail, I might do that after I have learnt my own religion satisfactorily, as I would not be able to compare other religions with Islam if I didn't have enough knowledge about my own religion Islam.
I am not going to claim to you that your religion is wrong and mine is right, as being a Muslim this is already my belief but I can't impose my beliefs upon you, what I can do is to invite you to learn about Islam from the RIGHT source, not a forum like this as most of Muslims here and everywhere are ignorant of Islam, many of them will CERTAINLY misguide you, therefore learn about Islam from Quran ONLY, and after reading and UNDERSTANDING Quran you feel Islam is the right religion then learn Hadith and Quran both from an authentic scholar.

NOOOO NEVER catholic!!!!!! I was raised a Baptist. Yes we do believe in hell. We fear hell as much as God. You think I didn't start like you??? Curious?? Curiosity was what brought me to Islam. LOL when I came here I was like you asking questions, are u terrorists? are women oppressed? is islam evil. Islam to me is very peaceful. It's a beautiful religion.

Hi Dana, and thanks;
Jumped out of your skin at the mention of Catholic did ya, that's funny. Anyway, no I'm not curious, searching or anything like that yet anyway.
I see things on boards written about Muslims and Islam that are not right and I try to set things straight as a non-Muslim can .. so to be able to ask questions when I have them is a help.
People believe all kinds of things are not right, it causes all sorts of problems.
... so, how was the response from those within the Baptist Church and family over your conversion?
Peace, Ken
I think Christianity has gotten into more of a cultural based aspect. I mean, the majority of Christians believe and perform Christianic duties because it is there own cultural requirement. These days religion is turning into tradition, and this is something which Allah sbwt warns us.

I recently visited a Muslim website and read where it's believed Paul invented Chritianity ... is this accurate and widely believed amougst Muslims?
Many Muslims, yes, do believe, with fairly good historical reasoning, that Paul 'invented' Christianity. I'll point to only one instance to make my case for now:
In Mathew 5:16, Jesus says, "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished."
Compare the above-mentioned quote to Paul's letter to the Ephesians:
But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. For he himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, by abolishing in his flesh the law with its commandments and regulations. [2:13-14]
Paul never met Jesus, all the information he had regarding his ministry was second-hand, so why does Paul take it upon himself, without scriptural proof, to declare, quite in defiance to Jesus' own words, that Jesus 'destroyed the Law' through the 'crucifixion'? Did Paul know better than Jesus or any of the disciples? Was Paul privy to some extra source of information hidden from the Christian laymen of the day?
Thank you Selamat, .. you mentioned that "many Muslims" believe this, are there some who hold a differing viewpoint?
You quote Jesus from the Gospel according to Matthew, .. is this a valid text recognised by some Muslims?
... what of the Gospel according to John, Mark and Luke?
not wanting to get too far from the Paul issue.

I see you said yet. So maybe theres hope?? Umm yeah I don't like catholics for the simple fact that they worship idols like the virgin mary. As for my family some accepted some didn't. My father is very supportive alhamdulillah!! As far as the church, I hadn't gone in the longest time because as I said before christianty never made sense to me. Islam made sense. It's about worshipping god and god alone which is what the bible says to do. It's also giving god credit for EVERYTHING. Any time I put gas in my truck, buy groceries, etc I thank Allah cause he provided me with those things. I'm always praising Allah. I love how charitable Islam is. Everyone should be like this. Theres way too many greedy people out there. Feed the hungry. The best charity you can gice is to satisfy a hungry person. If everyone helped feed the hungry we'd probroly solve out world hunger problem. I actually look forward to waking up now. I look forward to praying, especially Fajr prayer because to me thats the most important prayer. By praying 5 times a day. I have been closer to Allah and have more of a personal relationship with Allah then ever before in my life. And I have LOTS more faith. I'm glad to hear you are trying to clear up misconceptions of Islam because there is way too many misconceptions of Islam. May Allah grant you what is good for that. And I do pray you convert quickly. Islam is not a once a week religion.....it's a way of life

... I agree completely .. I detest greed.
I'm glad to hear you are trying to clear up misconceptions of Islam because there is way too many misconceptions of Islam.
Well, .. it does bother me to read misconceptions where ever I see it expressed and I see it expressed a lot, not only about Islam. I've had the Christian Fundamentalists or "CF's" try and point me to CF websites to learn about Islam.
So what we have is, a person who believes wrongly on a point concerning Islam trying to get me to read from a website she agrees with and most likely learned this wrong believe from in the first place ... as being her proof of fact. Just doesn't make much sense, .. I'll find a Muslim site and ask there thank-you.
I have some personal experience with this myself and had to smile where you mention Mary, having said that, I can only ask that you find a "real" Catholic website to ask about what Catholics believe concerning Mary. I'm not sure what you mean about the idols thing?
... all in all I'm glad to hear you have found Peace in your life .. mornings are great!!
