On 11 January "peace Mum" Cindy Sheehan, former British Guantanamo detainee Asif Iqbal and the brother and mother of detainee Omar Deghayes reached the gates of Guantanamo; 300 people in orange suits gathered at the US Embassy in London, 90 were arrested inside the Federal District Court House in Washington DC; people in Birmingham protested outside the factory that makes shackles for Guantanamo; protestors in Edinburgh marched from the US Consulate to the Scottish Parliament. Was this the day the tide turned?
