The cheapest laptop you could own is to borrow a relatives (high spec) laptop and then 'forget' to give it back.
Problem solved.

And Dual Core CPU

But one thin' - it has Media Centre Edition.

The laptop will be used for business purposes - perhaps in a network etc. Is MCE good with networks like XP Pro?

Also, I think Acers are formatted with FAT32. is there a tool to convert to NTFS from within windows?

I managed to pike a Toshiba Tecra 1.7Ghz Centrino, 80GB HDD, 1GB Ram laptop from work.

This came in from one of Sales account guys who spilt water over it, and I had to build him a new one.

The mouse and keyboard was f, so it was useless for business use.

I told my supervisor that my colleague gave a CBT CD for me to watch and that i needed to watch it in a quiet area like the library. I suggested that although the laptop malfunctioned, I could at least watch the video. he said OK.

In actual fact I've had the laptop fpr a few hours and its workin' fine. I installed all my software on it and its good to go. :D

I think I'll keep it 'cos I'll make more use of it at home, than i did when it was sat under my desk for 2 months :p
