if the led is not coming on it looks like the speaker is dead. or it could be a loose connection on the AC. does the speakers work without the AC connected usually you should get a small amount of sound coming out, but if the LED is not coming on as you say it looks like there is no power coming to the speakers at all.
maybe purchase some new speakers, they are not that expensive usually a few quid on ebay

I got these about a year ago from Ebay. Im gonna see if i got some gaurantee on em cus these going dead in one year is not good.
most likely you burned that joint. it happens often. u can grab a pair of speakers for 5 bucks on ebay. though, if u dropped the speakers like I do often, the cable in the rear of the speaker gets loose and so I find that messing with the wire sometimes give sound, but most often it loses the connection.
all in all, i think u should just buy a new pair. get the cheapest speaker possible unless your a audiophile.

could be... what kind of set up you got ? 2.1 channels? I have a similar set up on my dad's computer.
You're probably used to the sub right? I know once I got hooked on using the subwoofer, I can't go back to normal 2 channels. Same with my home theater system. when I used to watch movies, I wouldn't watch anything unless it supported full dolby digital 5.1 surround sound. the subwoofer makes a huge difference....
though ur soundcard might support 5.1 sound (not all do, but now a days, even integrated sound cards come with 5.1 support). so if ur speakers work, then u can buy a used/new subwoofer from ebay and have everything connected seperately/directly to the soundcard instead of a daisy chain like what you have now (speaks to subwoofer, then subwoofer to soundcard).
but its probably too much work for some people.....
