i need help

salam ppl,

n oh yh EID MUBARAK!

ok basially i dont knw what 2 do, on eid day i was giving food out to the nieghbourz n while i was comin bak i found some money in a bank packet wallet thingy. i got home opened it n found some paper, i realised some1 hu workz in a take-away dropped this money n it sayz all the "hisaab kitaab" on it. i counted the money 2 c hw much there was n there was 195 quid in it. i called the number on the piece of paper that was with it but no 1 piked up, asumingly bcz itz sunday n also eid.

what duz the shariah say bwt this? shud i call untl sum1 pickz up n tel them or if they dont knw much about this do i have to w8 a few weekz until sum1 claimz it? i realli dnt kknw n wud lyk sum advys.

Ring the number again later on, if not take it to that take away once eid celebrations r over? But make sure the correct person gets it, cos some people can be greedy with money that isn't thiers :(

put a sign up locally saying money found, the person who can identify the packet and amount is the true owner and you can return it inshaallah

I have read somewhere that you should try your utmost best to return the money. I would try the number again and if someone makes a claim for the money then ask the person to verify that it belongs to them.

If all else fails, contact your local police station. Somebody may have contacted the police to ask if the money has been handed in.
