yea same here but thats the way weve always done them its like a culture thing for lebs we do everything to outdo one another which i find pathetic my sis had no fancy wedding but a huge and long honeymoon :)

yeah the thing about at wedding is so true... you could say it also applies to some brothers... where the hanky goes on the head during Du'a times at weddings...

they are the only types of weddings i've been to. i went to 2 of them and then stopped going to weddings altogether as i was so disgusted at what i saw!

one of my friends family went to a wedding like that. and my friend went to pick his family up after the wedding. when he walked in he was soooo shocked that he lowered his gaze straight away and walked right back out again.

this friend of mine had been looking for a wife for a long time. there was an elder at this wedding who saw my friends reaction and saw how he lowered his gaze and walked out. this elder was so impressed that he asked him to marry his daughter!!!!

few weeks later they got married (not a forced marriage, it was a recommened/suggested marriage) and they are now very happy together alhumdulillah.

allah swt works in amazing ways. :)
