Across America and around the world, videogamers who grew up with their noses pressed against their computer screen are reporting a range of self-inflicted injuries as they get to their feet to play the Wii.

Some over-enthusiastic gamers have hurled their remote control through the TV screen in excitement and caused black eyes, cut fingers and bruised heads. One video posted on YouTube features a player showing his “Wii-scars” after being cut by shards of a glass lightshade smashed by a wayward Wii remote.

Damage to household items ranges from broken windows to smashed laptop computers and broken ceiling fans.

The over-exertion caused by playing video tennis, in which gamers swing the remote like a tennis racket, prompted the Wall Street Journal to dub the new ailment “Wii elbow”.“It’s getting a lot of people excited,” said Jim Walsh, an IT specialist who has set up a website called WiiHaveAProblem.com where hapless gamers can share their accidents. “People are getting carried away and forget what they are doing.”

The American Chiropractic Association has taken the unusual step of offering advice to Wii users, recommending that they warm up by stretching and take frequent breaks.

Mr Walsh, 27, set up his Website shortly after Nintendo launched the Wii last month. He said that most players blamed themselves for the accidents. “Most people are kind of embarrassed but they take it in good stride and get right back to playing it.”

On it, a man who gives his name only as Jim posted a photograph of his girlfriend, Liz, with a bulging black eye after he hit her in the face with the Wii remote control while battling a monster in Zelda.

The remote control comes with a wrist-strap to stop it flying, but some players report that the strap has snapped. Fans say that Nintendo has started shipping remotes with stronger straps. Nintendo has sent e-mail reminders to Wii players to hold on tight to the control and warning them against extreme movement. “Hold the remote securely and avoid excessive motion during game play. If your hands become moist, stop and dry your hands,” the company said.

wii vs ps3 is a very vague battle. you CANNOT say one is better than the other in general terms. Rather you must specify in what areas one is better than the other. for example, wii is a heck of a lot more "fun" than ps3, the wii's controller is always 40 times better than ps3's. However, ps3's graphics are 5 times better than wii's. The wii is just slightly (some dev's even say just about the same) more powerful than the original xbox (which in my opinion very powerful because xbox still has ALOT of potential). PS3 is also a blu-ray movie player so it doubles as two systems: game machine and movie player and that is a huge selling point. Most people don't know it but the original DVD format was doing terrible in japan. DVD sales were plummeting until SONY doubled the ps2 as a DVD player. Then DVD sales skyrocketed because people didn't have to buy another device to play movies. SONY is betting the same tactic for blu-ray and is touting the ps3 as the cheapest blu-ray player out now (ps3 about 600 USD compared to stand alone blu-ray drive which is 1200 USD).

Personally I break it down like this: if I want a "fun" system, i'll get a Wii. If I want a more serious gaming platform, i'll choose ps3 (people often buy sony products simply to fit in, watch how the ps3 fanboys start responding).

However in my opinion, ps3 is not a good choice. a better choice is whether to get a wii or xbox360. After all, xbox360 is about the same for a heck of a lot less. plus 360's online system is the most advanced out of all 3 consoles. i think wii's 24connect system is second place to xbox live, but sony is at the end.

Ok Halo is a Trilogy as you know.

Its about a war that is going on btween the Covenant(a joint army of alien races) against humans. They Covenant are actually on a holy war, they have been ordered to destroy human **** of the universe. So the war is going on for many years and the covenant which are like 100 times more powerful than the humans are destroying human colonies one by one. Then the Human Navy develops a highly secret program to develop Super Soldiers. These soldiers are raised since childhood(they look for exceptionally strong and intelligent kids and then kidnap them and clone them so their parents dont notice). They are biogenetically enhanced. In the begginging there were about 100, but 50 were left, and then from those 50 only one survives after the planet that most of them were on got destroyed. So the game is all about defeating the covenant and not letting them reach Earth. In the final game, the covenant have reached Earth and have discovered something underground that they want......its alot more complicated. It has a lot more story than im telling.

Now why is the game called Halo....its called Halo because these ring like structures that were built by a alien race are actually superweapons that can destroy all life in the universe. The covenant wants to activate these structures and the Humans try and stop them.

I did a bad job in explaining but its REALLY good. Whats even better is the gameplay. Just imagine you and your human teamates attacing another base that ur opponents are defending while you have sniper cover from the back and you also gotta watch out for nme snipers. Its just so adrenaline pumping.

i played the wii at my friends house. It was fun...but you can play the game sitting down on the couch. I mean, there is no need to fully extend your arm and hit the ball(in tennis), all you have to do is flick the wrist.
