Assalamu alaykum
well im doin A-level ICT at the moment and im kinda stuck so thought some people may be able to help out a lil sister :) well i hope anyway
Btw this coursework is due friday like in two days time :( so yeah i gotta get it done or else im doomed.
let me start by telling you what i gotta do inshallah
produce a presentation to your company about how they could take advantage of modern communications technologies. What you need to do is to create a presentation on
1. different methods of communicating information and,
2. the technologies that support them
There are already a variety of methods that are used by businesses to communicate internally (to its own staff) and externally (to customers, suppliers, government agencies such as the tax office). Not all might be suitable for your company, however, some might include
* paper-based documents - letters, memos, posters, invoices, order forms, questionnaires, brochures and leaflets, newsletters, reports
* screen-based - presentations and animations and other multimedia effects, video, web pages
* SMS - text messaging using mobile phones
* radio - adverts, data transmissions via DAB radio
* television - adverts, interactive television*
* telephone - telephone surveys, enquiries or sales, 'help lines', faxes, 'premium' numbers
* e-mail - arranging meetings or otherwise dealing with the day to running of companies, sending data files, adverts
* WWW - advertising, contact points, data gathering, sales, on line help
You should also plan to include descriptions of the technologies each method relies on, such as:
* personal computers - for email, web pages, DTP (modem, broadband, wireless access points might be discussed)
* touch screens - for accessing email/WWW at kiosks
* digital broadcasting - DAB and digital TV
* DVD - movies, larger presentations
* mobile phones - SMS, smart phones for presentations
* the Internet - the grid of computers that forms the grid on which the WWW relies.
* WAP - for WWW and email access.
Note - these web links will provide you with information on methods and technologies.
It is suggested you mention the basics of the technologies (what is required, its size, portability), costs, coverage (important for DAB, digital TV and phones). You should mention:
* How the method is used - e.g. leaflets created using DTP to post to customers.
* Why the method would be used - to inform, to alert, to enable
* Advantages and disadvantages of the method
* SIX different methods and the associated technologies
* A BIBLIOGRAPHY, giving the full URL, date the web page was visited and, if known, the author (this might be written into your evaluation)
Your presentation should be planned out using a storyboard. If you are making a presentation that someone can navigate around, you may also need a site/presentation plan. However, it can be a linear presentation (i.e. one which you just click through each slide) which does not need such a plan. You might, however, want to list the slides or groups of slides that you plan to include.
Navigating around your presentation will be easier for your viewers if you add navigation (or 'action') buttons. This sheet has all you need to get started adding action buttons.
Your presentation MUST include a combination of - images (including a photograph), a video clip, text, lines and borders (as artwork or around text objects). Top gain top marks you must use make alterations to, or create an original, MASTER slide.
Other techniques you may want to use include:
* auto contents feature to create a summary slide with the titles of all slide in the show
* action settings
* change colour settings
* embed fonts so that users see your work as it should be seen
* hyperlinks
* link a live web page into your presentation - you will need this add in
* Soft shadows
* transitions (N)
* video and sound (you could use the live web add in to insert a web page that has a movie on it, relevant to your presentation, e.g. a TV ad, multimedia about a movie, 3D interactive model)
Ive gotta have the following by friday:
* Storyboards
* Draft version with proofreading (it must be virtually error free)
* Final version annotated to show multimedia effects not obvious on printed paper (sounds, videos, links).
* Print out your MASTER slide to show the template created.
* Evaluation with record of web pages, texts or other sources of information. You should include enough information for someone to check the sources you used. You should comment on what went well with the creation of the presentation, what went badly, what you could have improved upon.
Thanks...any help will be more than appreciated :)
