So long as u have drivers installed that your PC can recognise the Cam, you'll be OK.
You'll need video editin' software, like Pinnacle Studio or Ulead Video Studio which let u to pull off the footage from the cam, edit it, n save it or convert it, n burn it.
I haven't done too much video editin' from a cam in the past, so can't be a great help with ur project :(.
Video edit magic lets you Capture videos using any USB or FireWire input device. I have used this before but not pullin' vid off camera.

What quality did u capture the footage? If its long play, the quality will be crap, if its short play, the q is better.

cam is 1hour miniDV so 1hour of footage on it makes it 20gig on HDD when captured as AVI but quality not the same as on miniDV and when u burn it on CD the burning software compresses it to 700mb n when u play the CD its like all boxed up with very poor visuals, takes away all the fun
i got sum hajj vids i captured this year so i want to save em on CDz

Whats the quality like on 20GB avi file??
If its good, don't compress it, convert it to MPEG usin' WinAviVideo Converter... or play it on your PC, n let a video capture tool like Camtasio Studio record it playin' on the monitor in real time, n then save it to however you want...
Hope u got a good high spec pc :D

thats what bothers me most 20GB AVI is not as good quality as its on cam's miniDV, the thing is i want the footage to remain in same quality as its in the cam, so i can later compress it using a good software without loosing n visuals
al7amdulillah PC specs r fine i aint worried about it :D
