yeah, such a shame..Alhamdulillah Imam Suhaib Webb.. such a wonderful speaker and such a virtuous speech he gave..Masha'Allah.

because i would like to know more about it...the brother in lecture mentioned how he (Hazrat Yunus (AS)) remembered Allah in the belly of a fish.

SubhanAllah! jazakallah for posting this !!! Makes me want to get hold of more of Imam Webb's talks. On the sat at GPU walking thru the stalls i witnessed a beautiful beaming young sister tell the Imam in sign language that his talks had helped her so much and that he's an excellent speaker, mashaAllah he was so humble and he asked her sign-interpreter to ask her to make dua for him..was a beautiful moment!

The story summed up akhi...

Yunus AS was a Prophet sent to his people, he kept giving daw'ah but no one listened to him. He then left and went out to the sea with a group of people.

It was stormy and the ship couldn't handle it so they decided they had to throw someone off. The drew lots..and it turned out it was Yunus AS who was the one who had to be evicted. The people refused to throw him as he was known to be pious so they drew lots again...3 times..and each time it landed on Yunus AS. Yunus AS took that as a sign from Allah swt and he was thrown into the sea..where he was subsequently swallowed by a whale.

In the whale he was still alive...and like ya know, kinda wanted to get out (cos its not too nice to be jamming in a whale) so he made a du'a to Allah swt which was mentioned in the Quran and has so many virtues to it masha'Allah.

Laa Illaha Ila anta,inee kuntu minal dhwaalimeen.

His voice was heard in the Heavens and the angels saw a light come from the whale as he used to invoke Allah much when he was not destressed hence Allah swt accepted his prayer, freed him and he returned back to his people..who as far as I remember then accepted the message and everyone lived happily ever after.
