We did not spend even close 2 that amount on our wedding... even having 3 separate parts to it and including plane tickets 2 sri lanka we did not spend that much :D alhamdulillah

Id never spend that much on a wedding. Although my parents were insistent on mine some sort of asian addiciton to spending on extravagant weddings i recon- so its their waste. If it was my kid, Id just have a nikkah done in a masjid , and a dinner at my place, and then give a whole load of food to the needy and starving. Thats the way to do it.

course it is subhanAllah u just meet up with the walli and two witnesses, get married, few days later make a few sarnies for the boys, invite the bros over to eat and live happily ever after insha Allah and all for less than £200 you would easily have change left over
