Well i just got of the phone from the enquiry department at a particular univeristy i want to enrol at.
they said that cos i dont have any formal qualifications :smack: i have to do some kind of a foundation studies programme? and then i can go onto counselling from there..:rubeyes:
i was hoping that i can jump it but allow it cant do it.
if the nerds n geeks know anything here please post and advise..cos im like desperate :help:

Binty, the foundation course is usally a year long and benficial in covering the prerequisite requirments of the course you many not have. its worth it even though it may seem you know some of the content. is the coulselling course a diploma?
its common for unis to request students to them before enrolling for particular qualifications.
is this what other unis are saying?
if this is the uni you definately want to go for then me thinks its because its standards are higher and better. it'll make you a better counseller and al be your first victim :D

i am being serious, yes binty do it you have to. and your blooody luck its only half a year. my kid useless bro had to do one for a full year. do you have to pay for it?
have a look at the content and im sure you'll find some of it useless.
think of it this way, if you dont do it, enrol ont he course,t heir are going to be folk on there ahead of you. you need to start on a level footing bints.

then ur free for half a yr from jan...so u can do the course..
and i dont think theres any alternative to the course...cos u have to prove seomhow or other that u do have the necessary skills.

and the foundation course is to make sure that everyone is at the same level..if you were to somehow get around it...chances are you'd fall behind as they expect everyone to have a certain level of background knowledge and understanding
at uni its not like school/college...where they spoon feed you...if you fall behind..no1 cares..and its up2u to catch up
do the foundation course...it'll give you more insight to what you wanna do..and inshaAllaah you'll see if this is really what you wanna do :)
