i need help with realplayer, please someone help

Well basically i want to listen to a audio file on real player but it says something and doesnt let me. How comes and i even tried uninstalling and reinstalling realplayer but still doesnt work

I know its boaring answering computer related questions but it wont take some of you a min as you're a computer genius

u probably missing a codec. try using vlc, www.videolan.org :up:

btw, what is the extension of the file? is it .ram? .rm? .wav? .mp3? .ogg? etc

i hear quicktime can open SMIL 1.0, which is the type of real player media u trying to open. though not sure if the file u trying to open is SMIL 1.0 or 2.0. RealPlayer 10.5 supports SMIL 2.0, while quicktime only supports 1.0.

do u have the latest version of real player? version 10.5 that is?

are u running real player as administrator or limited user? it could be that real player is trying to download the necessary codec but if ur under a limited account, it cannot and will just pop up with an error.
