I'm crap at this game.

Played it 6 times, against my bro, lost all 6 times :(

Lost as Brazil against Chelsea.

I need hints n tips. I play the patient passin' game, but that only works shootin' to the left side. When i shoot at the right side my bro is always closin' down n i can't get the passin' goin' n i end up losin' due to individual errors :(

Any hints / strategies welcome. :up:

You wont. Its not striaght back for i just drew it wrong. Obviously you got wing backs cafe and carlos ... its more attacking and its works.

Most important players are kaka and ronaldinho .. use them right and you'll easily win the game. They are both quick with the ball ... run at his players take them on ... easy .. and you could change kaka for robinho coz hes proberly one of the the fastest win the ball

EVERYONE chooses either Brazil or Inter (cos of Adriano).

I play with Arsenal :up: Although i get better results using Milan, i prefer Arsenal because im a Gooner myself..and whenever my opponent chooses Man Utd - then there's only one team im choosing to face that :D

I play formation 4-5-1. Selection C (or the 3rd selection of that formation).

I dont play any Defensive midfielders.

No such thing as defense when i play :)

I won my first game on penalties after a a 3-3 draw endin' a 14 game losin' streak against opponents :D.

When shooting, wait till your player is very close to the ball with his foot when shooting, less chance of skying it. Also holding R2 when you shoot adds to accuracy.

When the ball is up in the air for a header, always use R2 to get your player in front of the opposition to win the header.

And use possession, play more patiently with this game, if you build up and create space for yourself it gives you more chances.

My hint for free kicks is to press SQUARE once and then again and try and get it to land about half way, that's how I get mine on target. Gets more dip.

Hold SQUARE til the power bar is about half full and let go then hold DOWN on the directional buttons and the ball goes up and over the wall.

If you get a corner kick, pick a player who has a high swerve ability such as 95+. aim for the far corner of the 6 yard box. hold up and O and the directional button towards the goal with about 85% power. It should go over the keeper and in.

If you get a free kick within 21m, here is a way to score: Hold L1 and R1 for a player to come next to the free kick taker. Aim for thee space between the wall and the keeper. Make the player tap the ball out and take a shot, adding curl to the direction AWAY from the keeper. Either the ball will go in, or the keeper will punch it in himself.

PES 6 teaches patience... patient build up play, possession football is the order of the game...

Much better than PES 5 - u should see some PES6 goals on youtube... rivettin' stuff :rubeyes:

Did you try some of the tips that I posted?

When an attacker is runnin' at you, keep your hand off the R1 (sprintin' button) and press R2 (make yourself wide) and hold your ground. You can knick the ball off them.

I don't use the R1 button much as u can u get disposessd easily. I use it sparingly. In PES 4 you could use it a lot, but PES 5 and 6 have been slowed down.

1. Use the imaginary vertical line goin' in the middle of the TV. I've hit the cross-bar tryon' to follow that tip. But u can also get headers in on the far post (again smacked against crossbar :()

2. Double tap R1 (holdin' it down only keeps close control of ball). Use with Robben, Recoba, Henry, kaka, Ronaldinho... etc

What's annoying about this game is that it is much easier to win a match, by being very direct with your through-balls and basically sprinting to the ball and shooting if you have a good striker.

It totally rips my midfield open. I can use that tactic too, works like a charm. But it's so annoying when i just want a decent possession game that encourages clever passing - you know, goals which you could actually savour?

Everyone online plays either Inter Milan (for Adriano) or Brazil :( They laugh at me with my Arsenal choice.

So far, I've won 40 games, lost 55, and drawn 13.

As for Adriano, he's unstoppable - tough, quick, excellent dribbling and powerful shot. I still have a goal I saved when I dribbled past 3 Chel$ki defenders and ripped into the roof of the net from outside the box. Genius! :D
