Palestine Solidarity Festival
The Camden Palestine Campaign is organising a Palestine Solidarity Festival
Date and time: Sunday 26th November from 3.0 to 6.0pm
Venue:Somers Town Community Centre – 150, Ossulston St . London NW1
Entrance free – donations welcome
The event will be both a celebration of Palestinian culture and an attempt to build increasing solidarity in Camden with the Palestinian people’s struggle for human rights and self-determination.
The event will consist of:
(a) Palestinian music – Nizar Al-Issa: Palestinian singer and Oud(Arabic lute) player.
(b) Palestinian poetry read by Egyptian writer Ahdaf Soueif, and the writer and broadcaster Michael Rosen.
(c) Films on Palestine .
(d) Speakers: the main speaker will be Dr. Azzam Tamimi, Palestinian director of the Institute of Islamic Political Thought. There will be also a speaker from Palestine .
(e) Palestinian products on display and on sale – eg, embroidery, cards, olive oil, etc.
(f) Palestinian food – moderate prices.
