Ukthy you can bring in as much food as you like, put it in a carrier bag, rucksack, etc. and there will no problem at all- I remember last year the looooong ques too, there was even this min-squabble at this hotdog stand. :rubeyes:

Subhan'allah when it comes to food and hungry bros and sisters you can see things that you never ever wanna see :(, at the hotdog stand this one bro with a sister (I pray they were married or blood related) pushed me and some bros and just went infront of us blantantly seeing we were infront, we allowed it because we didn't want some scrap over this plus the sister was there too but all others behind us were pushing and shoving trying to see if they could try the same with us too. :(

well everyones different in their views i suppose , but i'l point out why i didnt like it :
* 1st day came early..the exhibition doors were meant to open at 9/9:30 ... they had the most biggest Q .. some were left in the rain outside .. in total waited four hours... i mean four hours of standing in crowds with people squashing literally against u , including brothers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

* among the people were pregnant sisters , sisters with kids, old people .. not very good .. one sister i know had to wait outside in the rain with her baby for i dunno how long, another was pregnant and waiting for that long!
- in total of being there for the 2 days i saw 4 people faint due to the crowding .. one of which was actually mohammed ali himself [CEO islam channel] but that was on stage , may allah cure him , ameen !
- and among the crowd there were people cussing and getting annoyed & frustrated with crying kids etc..
- the 'volunters' themselves hardly knew what was going on and some of the volunter leaders wernt there or organisers sumin like that i was told... also the volunteers kept telling us different things.
- while we were waiting the food was being made , the people squeezing through between us. and also tehy had to build the register fronts/customer services front. carrying metal long things in between the crowds .. its dangerous and hazadous , with that amount of people if there was a fire no one would be able to follow proper procedures and the rest u can imagine !

* we were let in without no checking tickets etc... funny thing is , i had my tickets from when they were posted to me and i didnt get a wrist band and my ticket wasnt checked all day on the other hand , my sister who had ordered her ticket online didnt have her ticket so had to collect it there.. she got the wrist band without having even showed her reference number and confirmation through email , and they gave her a wrist band for the next day too ! weird huh !? ...this meant people got in free [coz some people wanted to buy on the door , alahmdulilah, not to mention the sister i was travelling with by car got free parking on the 1st day [just to show u how very unorganised they were and its meant to be £9 per day] so already they loosing money , gettin into debt !

*after finally getting in exhibition hall [where stall were etc] on 1st day was ok , finally got bit of air , alhamdulilah. saw the kabah kiswaa mashallah.

- looked around tiredly not interested as my feet were just killing alhamdulilah.

- according to their website and islam channels GprevieU we were told on the 1st day there were gonna be workhops with scholars/sheikhs ... cut it short there were none [A LIE] .. and so we were expected to look around from 9:30 - 6 [as the program said] ... i dont think it takes much thought to know that majority of people wont to look around, buy for 8 hours !?...if i knew there was gonna be no workshops , i wouldnt have bothered to have come that early to be looking around for nearly 8 hours! tired & complaining!

* We were told on the small stage [which was in exhibition hall] that the doors of the 'arena' for the nasheed would be opened at 4:30 [which would be after they do the maghrib prayer] , and i thought alhamdulilah i can SIT ! lol.
- went prayed maghrib .. on the way from the hall that we prayed maghrib in, we were taking pigeon steps towards the arena [this was around 4:40ish]..until eventually we could move no more , were just standing still only to hear on the speaker thingy '' doors will open at 5:30... waited all that time with men besides me, squashing past ... SOME SEGREGATION THAT IS [another LIE].
- the crowd then started moving again only to come in this other larger hall which then we had to wait again for those doors to open , that was about half an hour or a bit over ... again squashed with people pushing and silly 'hehehe hahaha sisters' pushing n screaming and all sorts of dumb stuff & also again a brother was in front of me within this squashed crowd.. not to mention my hijaab was being pulled, just to show u how close everyone was squashed and how much shoving there was... after that half hour everyone moved in..alhamdulilah
- i got a SEAT ! alhamdulilah! i dont know why i was suprised [cinsidering all that happen before but the seating was not segregated at all !
again a brother was sitting behind me , alhamdulilah he wernt besides me.[tho i was in family section, it was still like that int just sisters and just brothers section]
- & to make it worse , after they let all the people in and they had all settled down about 20 mins after doors had been open ... they think its justified by saying '' brothers and sisters...sisters on the left , brothers on the right and in the middle only families. lol , they really think that they can make thousand and thousands of people just 'quickly' get up and move over .. there were too many people for that to be done, it would have been more chaios ! anyway only a few moved, didnt make a difference.

*btw im still on the 1st day*

* so they started the nasheed late [not really my thing but i stayed coz was in a group].

-some of the brothers came on and mashallah .. some came on with background music [as in instruments] bt they wernt actually being played , u could just hear it in the back ground..i thought hmm ... GprevieU presenter said there would only be 'voice and drum'. [could this be another LIE i thought to myself .. or was the presenter playing with words saying 'on the stage there wont be any instruments on stage' [but actually then playing in the background but not on stage] hmm i left it.


* the 2nd day , i came back and thought yep , looking forward to bilal phillips, suhaib webb,yusuf estas etc!! [tho i wasnt looking forward to their organisation !]

* alhamdulilah they were bit more sorted out on 2nd day. paid for the parking.. parked in the same place... only to get to the door to be told , u cant enter this way & that we had to walk all they was to the east side [we were on the west]! i voiced to them how they need to be organised, theyve got people coming parking in here and not lettin them in , would that mean a whole crowd in the underground car park !? also there was a pregnant sister with me and i told them she wont be walking all that way , when we can just go here and walk up the stairs .. me and the sisters went on for about 15 minutes [they wouldnt even be considerate to the preg sis !] ... anyway another brother and his wife came with 2 kids mashallah.. and mashallah he told them what for , and he just pushed through and said come on sisters, so we got through [but was upsetting that that had to be done just for sumin so simple]
- gave our tickets , got our wrist bands ... doors for the arena didnt take too long to open alhamdulilah mashallah.

* got seating, was the same thing with the mixed seating tho.
*was mostly speeches one or two nasheeds on between. was going okish. [but personally for me , i was waiting for yasir qadhi,suhaib webb,bilal phillips etc..but it was just few boring speeches]

*alhamdulilah the exhibiton hall was open .

* when the 'musical nasheed' came on a brother wrote on a piece off paper ''stop the music'' and was showing everyone from his sit who ever could see..

*cut it short .. it came to evening and then it was dawud wharnsby and yusuf islams turn ... on came DAWUD first >> WITH HIS GUITAR!!!!
i said nooo am i seeing things !?... well i wasnt ! i got up and left the hall ! and its just wrong , music is haram , end of ... instruments apart from the duff are haram...not many people out of the thousands there left! i was shocked and annoyed...not only the fact that its haram , the fact that we were lied to , when it was asked about this instrument issue in the GPU , br khurram clearly said to the many that asked , no there will be no instruments only drum and the voice , and he advised not to make 'trivial' things bother us...[anyway its another LIE !]

-i returned to the hall only to see Yusuf Islam come on...only difference is he spoke before he performed and said because guitars were used or was derived from the arab world it makes it halal ... WHAT!!!? why people justifying to what their nafs say , fatwa shopping!? ... there is learly saheeh evidence and quranic ayaat which state that it is haram..plus the sahaba/prophet did not use instruments, they used the daff, shown from seerah when they welcomed the prophet to madinah ! however even this , Yusuf Islam justified saying that coffee is good as it came from them just how instruments are ... astaghfirallah!

i am not trying to pick on others faults as we all have them , but rather i dont think its right that we say unite , and then unite on the haram.. yes we should unite but only on enjoining good and forbidding evil ! ... people in front of us were saying its 'global peace and unity' so we should be 'tolerant' ... i dont know about anyone else but im not going to be tolerant to all this over Allahs laws and the teaching of the prophet :saws2:.
