Help - Higher Education.

Assalamu alaikum!

Can someone offer me some kind gentle advise on how you decided and stuck to know what you were going to become and study for higher education in college or something.... ?

I'm really rather confused, and it's getting me frustrated. I don't know what I want to do!! :(

That and how did you know the college you were applying for was the one, and also, what happens if I'm too stoopid, and no college wants me and.... :(

I've kinda like got ideas on what colleges I could go to, but then what if they don't have courses for what I want to do? Even though I don't know yet.

So, yeah, what did you pick, how did you pick, and can you change your mind even if you're half way through it?

you apply for diff. colleges....you can apply for howeva many u want.

none of them will reject as long as you get the right grades they will let you do what you want.
even if you dont get the grades theyll still most probly let you in except you will have to do some rubbish course. like BTEC or something.

depending what you wanna do in uni you just pick the correct subjects.
for eg you wana do medicine or dentristry or something then do chemistry and biology at college.

and yeah when u start college and you decide the subjects your doing aint the right ones then just let them know a.s.a.p and they let u change subjects

You dont have to promote it (adultery). You can just give him a general answer about the dangers of promiscuity diseases etc etc and precautions what not.

Cant you just go to sixth form at your school? :scratch: Saves all the personal statement/applying to 10 colleges hassle.

And whatever you wanna do, you should pick fairly general subjects. A *LOT* if not most technical/science-type subjects at university all want Maths A level...so even if you're not good at it, you should definitely do maths. (even a C in maths is very hard and very good ;))

If you pick fairly broad subjects, you can always change your mind halfway through at university...especially if they're HARD subjects e.g. physics, further maths. if they are universities recognise you as proper clever and let you do what you want :p

BTW im jus regurgitatin what my teachers tell me :p im still first year a level (but in year 11) :)

I was on a "special" (imho bit stupid) program so i skipped year 9, and did my gcses across year 9 and 10. Im in year 11 now but doing first year of a levels...but i didnt get to choose them, the "special" program chose them for me :rolleyes:

Im doing combined science, english, maths, and ict (basically core)

Next year ima drop english and science, pick up further maths and physics insha'Allah :up:

In a way the broad core subjects are good cos it means when going to university, i have a broad range at a higher level so insha'Allah if i change my mind should be fine :D (either computer science or physics insha'Allah...family have "decreed" I do medicine, accounting, or law :rolleyes: :rolleyes: )

Seriously, you should start revising for your mocks and do it PROPERLY...like, 5 hours a day or more. You cover most of the stuff durin the revision for the mocks...revision for the real thing is usually just "fine tunin" youre memory if you know what I mean.

When it comes to revising for your proper exam, you'll be glad you revised hard for your mocks ;)

I have started revising for my mocks. Done my morning revision, now it's coursework time, and I've nearly finsihed that too.... I'll start revising again soon. :)

lol dont worry i never consistently managed to revise that much...

I kept a log of how much time i spent revising each day *checks it* for the mocks it was usually 2.5-3 hours a day, with a few days of 5 hours. For the real thing, 2-3 hours.

I wish id done more revision for the mocks (5 hours a day would be good :D)...it really eases up the revision for the real exam, and lets you concentrate on the subjects that NEED revision.

I have a rubbish attention span though. I thought girls found it easier to revise/maintain attention :scratch: Even if you think you're not very clever (you are) just make up for 'it' by revising that much more. Even if you dont understand something (which wont happen at gcse) as long as you remember the facts you'll be fine ;)

I wish id done more revision for the mocks (5 hours a day would be good :D)...it really eases up the revision for the real exam, and lets you concentrate on the subjects that NEED revision.

I have a rubbish attention span though. I thought girls found it easier to revise/maintain attention :scratch: Even if you think you're not very clever (you are) just make up for 'it' by revising that much more. Even if you dont understand something (which wont happen at gcse) as long as you remember the facts you'll be fine ;)

I wanted to do Physchology, Sociology, Biology, and Art.... Buuut.... lol. If I were to become a Physchiatrist, well, my sis in law said that I may have to make unislamic decisions to help my patients especially if they were of differnet cultures and differnet religions. So, that's a no no then.
