aslong as u have a good textbook and have access to some exams , say online, then u are fine. just be prepared to know the textbook well. u have to assume that it will be the most difficult exam in ur life so study the textbooks well.

oh and, praying regularly and being a good muslim helps :)

My dear brother this transfer to college will do you an enourmous amount of good as it will prepare you for university life where you have to study independantly. The universty staff just deliver lectures and once you leave their lecture theatre you are on ur own!! Yes some do have tutorials etc but not everyday and YOU have to go out of your way to contact the tutor..they are not going to contact you and say 'did u understand that?'

I went to a small sixth form so i had great support Alhamdulilah so it was a bit wierd when i got into uni..bt Alhamdulilah ihad great friends..that is another sucessful element to it all inshaAllah.

knowing ur textbooks also is good but you need to be apply to ply it and aply the information as opposed to just plain regurgitation. Learning a book is not too diff..understanding it is!

All the best!

and besides..we can help u inshaAllah

Oh jazakAllah khayr for all the information, but i doubt i can go uni as i can only do 'BTEC' qualifications and i dnt think universities look at that, they look at Alevels more dont they?.....i hope i can cope at college please do dua for me as at the school sixth form i didnt do well at all in the Economics exam i found that subject so hard i dont think it was the right subject for me it wasnt real it was a test to see if students can continue doing that subject...and business studies there were two exams one on 'marketing' which i passed but the other was ICT Provision didnt revise for it i think i took business too easy as it was Ramazhan i couldnt be bothered to revise and i didnt think it would matter so much as it wasnt a real exam but looks like it did and now they have said for me to find somewhere else i was in tears when i found out:o they said college will be best for me i use to be so hard working in lesson but i dont think anything stayed in my dumb brain of mine........i feel like a 'drop out' now when they said college was the last option i gave hope in education, i still feel everythings finished for me but then one of the teachers spoke to me and helped me choose subjects again Inshallah i will get the answer from that teacher on mon-tues i still feel upset though starting college, i never imagined me going to a place like college where all the teachers are laid back etc. Please do dua for me that all goes well in college for me ive never been through a tough time like this my emaan was so weak that i lost my faith in Allah. Sister i am a sister not a brother thanks so much for all your advice.....i just hope i do well and inshallah am sure you will be successful in all that you do

College is cool, but the gap in how you are taught in GCSE and A-Levels may take a little bit of time to adjust to. Nothing to worry about though, as the teachers are helpful and everyone will be in the same boat.

College/uni is fun esp if you prefer studying independently without having teachers/professors breathing over your shoulder. It's not so boring like schools although some professors can be boring at times. There's a lot of freedom but use it wisely or you might get caught up in it. As for the studying, keep up with the professors; procrastination isnt good if you cant handle the stress.
