View Full Version : Looking for Quran recitation from ISLAM CHANNEL
Salaam brothers/sisters
On Islam Channel (UK tv) there used to be a recitation that they would put on late at night, with moving scenes of nature and wildlife (Qudrat of Allah swt) in the background...
Does anybody...i mean ANYBODY...know the name of the Qari? I used to stay up as late as it would be showing, and only go to bed- late hours of the night- when it had finished, now that they dont show it, i miss it
inshallah some brother out there will know the name of that Qari

Salaam, this is my first post!
To brother Rizwan: I had exactly the same dilemma, and still do. To me, it does not sound like Sheikh As Sayegh - the voice you're talking about is/was a lot deeper right? Especially Surah Nas, the final surah, he read so slow and with so much power. Sheikh Ahmed Ajmi isn't not as deep in his recitation either.
Someone suggested Mishary Rashid Al-Afasy, but it doesn't seem to be him either. Although, all of those Qaris are very good nonetheless - if any, it may be As Sayegh.
If you do find out,
do tell!
Jazkallah for the replies! :)
okay now i know it was not shaykh sudais after checking some samples of recitation (on youtube). Very beautiful subhanallah but not the one i am chasing after...
btw i know i am along the right lines because i recognise Shaykh Sudais voice from Islam channel. (There were 2 Qaris and they would alternate...one of them was indeed Shaykh Sudais and i remember enjoying his qiraat but always looking forward to other Qari :D)
that leaves...
1) shaykh Ahmad-bin-Ajmi
sample:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZOU6TfZ3sY
and
2) shaykh tawfiq as sayagh
sample:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oEqWFOez0BI
I cant decide which was the one? :coolbro: Mashallah they are both very good, but i remember on Islam channel they would always recite the end surahs of the Quran (the short surahs)

I'm not so sure if those two options are the only two...

Welcome brother! :)
Subhanallah i am not alone then, someone knows exactly what im talking about! YES YOU ARE RIGHT IT WAS DEEP AND PENETRATED TO YOUR VERY SOUL...and yes it was the end Surahs of Quran...
perhaps i am wrong, with the above post...and it is none of those Qari?
The search for the mystery shaykh continues! :D

I have the Quran by him on mp3 format, and it doesn't sound what it did like on Islam Channel - perhaps it was a special recording? But as I said initially, there was a chance it was him, but Surah Nas is definitely different.
its not Shaykh Al-Hudhaifi is it?

Actually, truth786, or indeed anyone else - do you know the name of the Qari that recites a few verses in the intro. to IslamiQA on Islam Channel? This is another one I have been trying to work out.
Rizwan does it sound like this?

I think you are right bro, after hearing that i think it is the same person but believe me...the version he did for Islam channel is something else...subhanallah...out of this world.
Im not sure it is available to buy mainstream, probably he did special recording with them in the studio for exclusive version.
Jazakallah for your help!
btw...one thing different was the fact that in the Islam channel version the recitation was slower, and very powerful.

do you remember if they found the IslamChannel version, during that thread?

Subhanallah! This is what we're looking for. Rizwan, just right click and do save as, don't worry about going to the website!
It's probably not exactly the same recording for Islam Channel, or they may have spiced it up, or have a better qual version - but Alhamdulillah this is him. Brought a tear to my eye.
Thank you Haqa
