IN CONVERSATION WITH JACK STRAW MP
Date: Thursday 2nd November 2006
Time: 6.15 pm – 7.30 pm
Venue: Darwin Lecture Theatre, UCL, Gower Street, London, WC1E 6BT
The Leader of the Commons, MP for Blackburn, and former Foreign
Secretary, Jack Straw's original comments on the niqab sparked
a debate that some in the Muslim community feel is being waged
in the columns of the tabloids and amongst government ministers,
but not amongst themselves.
The Three Faiths Forum and City Circle are convening an evening
with Jack Straw to allow you to put your comments and concerns
to him directly. Does he still feel it was right to begin this
debate? Does he feel his comments have created a media frenzy
over the 'Muslim problem'? Or perhaps you feel it is about time
ministers stood up to rising 'religious fundamentalism' within
the Muslim community?
Come and have your say. If you are interested in attending then
please RSVP via e-mail to 3ff@threefaithsforu m.org.uk (http://us.f272.mail.yahoo.com/ym/Compose?To=3ff%40threefaithsforum.org.uk). Do ensure
you include your name and postal address. Be prepared to show
photo ID on the day.
