i watched last years one on islam channel n they got all the political ppl that guy from mpac how bowrringgg and dat iqbal vatever i cud not pay £15 to watch him speak :zzz:

Same here- last year was dragged along by some bros who saved space in the car, banged on my door proper early, and already bought my ticket :( than when we got there aside from one bro (who we couldn't ditch alone and leave behind :rolleyes:) we couldn't wait to get outta that event.

This time round insha'allah I will not go.

Na'am I kind of agree with your brother- that 'Eid in the Square' thingy organised by the MCB and the Mayor was just a ploy rip off of that kaffir pop and rock 'Party in the Park' do :rolleyes:- to desenthasise the 'young Muslims' foster Britishness and a sense of belonging to the UK to curb 'extremism'.

I think the problem of mixing mainly comes in the exhibition and shopping area. Perhaps they should consider dividing the times for sisters and brothers in these areas

i'm goin but only for the talks. the "nasheed concert" only starts in evening, so you can leave earlier to avoid the "bad element" while still reaping whatever benefit you can derive from the talks and the exhibition. As for the free mixing part - maybe we should each take responsibility for behaving modestly (lowering your gaze and speaking to males/females only as absolutely necessary). Go for the right reasons - to learn something and to be inspired by the speakers. IMHO shopping in the bazaar and wandering through the exhibition need not entail "free mixing" - if you behave with the right adhab.

So did any one enjoy it??

I enjoyed watching bu khatir, yahya hawa, abul joud, and so others without music, I hated these rappers I dont know what they are called, with haram music and bad words.. anyway I really enjoyed Salma yaqoob and ivone talking, I was dissapointed with sheikh yusuf estes, he didnt give say much just the same thing, he looks tired:( may allah bless him!
